Regional Anesthesia

Welcome to the webpage for UBC Regional Anesthesia, a division within the Department of Anesthesiology, Pharmacology & Therapeutics at the University of British Columbia. This site aims to provide information of the specific subspeciality of regional anesthesiology, including affiliated hospital sites, and description of practiced nerve blocks.

Nerve blocks are performed by the majority of anesthesiologists with application at multiple anatomic sites. These include both peripheral and deep nerve blocks, and can be provided in a single injection or by an indwelling perineural catheter. Advancing the practice and awareness of regional anesthesia continues to be a primary objective.
